About
Black Trail Runners returns to Ruislip Woods, a National Nature Reserve of ancient semi-natural woodland, easily accessible in northwest London. Expect undulating woodland trails, firm under-foot, but muddy if there is recent rain. Trail shoes strongly recommended.
This will be an easy paced looped run of approximately 10 km. We run as a group, with plenty of pauses to breathe in the beauty of nature. Nobody gets left behind. Topping and tailing for faster runners, and those who want to push themselves a little harder can throw in some hill repeats.
If travelling by public transport, meet at Ruislip Manor tube station (Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines) at 10am. From there it's a 1.1km walk/jog to the woods. If travelling by car, meet at the woods - roundabout on Broadwood Avenue and King's College Road - at 10.10am (What3Words: visual.spring.kite). There is free on-street parking.
The 10km run will finish at Ruislip Lido, a former reservoir with its own beach. The cafe will be open for hot and cold post-run refreshments. From there it's a short walk/jog back to the start point.
