About
Cary Homeschoolers, Inc. (CHS) was founded in 2001 as a welcoming, all-inclusive, secular homeschool socialization and support group. It has grown rapidly over the years and fills an important need in our local community. CHS now has over 200 member families with around 375 students of all ages. Membership is open to all homeschooling families in and around Cary, NC. We do not endorse or require adherence to any particular belief system, educational method, or philosophy. Our purpose is to help our children develop and maintain social connections with other young people and for parents to have the opportunity to share ideas about homeschooling and be a source of support and social release. Our members meet for park days, game days, playdates, clubs, and field trips to help encourage and build these lasting relationships. This is a great place to learn about opportunities for classes, tours, and homeschool events. Disclaimer: As a secular group, we do not endorse or promote any belief, religion, or culture. As an inclusive group, we allow our members to share aspects of themselves with the group. Any posts shared by members, or forwarded from the community, do not reflect the opinions of CHS as a whole. We encourage members to join or avoid events that differ from their personal beliefs at their discretion. Events shared to CHS cannot exclude members based on religion, culture, or beliefs.

Becoming a Member: Join CHS and Experience a Vibrant Community! We are thrilled to welcome you to CHS! Discover exciting gatherings and opportunities by becoming a member. To get started, simply click the link below to access the application form. Fill it out, and one of our representatives will be in touch with you soon. Membership Requirements: To ensure a thriving community, we have simple requirements for membership: 1. Each CHS member family must be actively homeschooling (or considering homeschooling at least one child if they are younger than school age). 2. CHS member families must live locally, including Cary and the Triangle area. 3. Annual Membership Fee: Our group has a nominal $25 annual fee per family, which covers the cost of maintaining our website and modest group events. While some field trips or special events may involve fees from external resources, our primary focus is to provide affordable and meaningful opportunities for our members. Most of our gatherings are free, and our hosts do not earn a profit. 4. Activity Participation: To encourage socialization and a diverse range of activities, each family is encouraged to organize or assist with at least two activities per year. While we do not track this, we thrive off the environment of an involved community who is engaged and active. Activities can be as simple as organizing a gathering at a local park twice a year for children to play. The possibilities for activities are endless and can be inspired by your interests or those of your child. If you need ideas or assistance with planning, our Board or subgroup coordinators are here to help. Join CHS and become part of a welcoming community where learning, socializing, and support flourish. We look forward to having you as a valued member!
