🥾🍓 Ready for another YoPro challenge hike?
Join us on Sunday, November 8 as we head into the San Gabriel Mountains for Strawberry Peak via Red Box — a beautiful, rewarding route with great mountain views and a solid climb to one of the area’s most recognizable summits.
This one is a step up from our usual moderate hikes, but still very doable for hikers who are comfortable with sustained climbing.
📅 Sunday, November 8 ⏰ 8:00 AM 📍 Red Box / Angeles National Forest 🥾 ~7.5 miles ⛰️ ~1,500 ft elevation gain ⏱️ ~4 hours 🔥 Difficulty: Moderate–Hard ↔️ Out & back
Expect a scenic climb, exposed sections, and a steeper final push toward the summit. Bring plenty of water, good hiking shoes, sun protection, snacks, and layers since mountain temperatures can change quickly.
🚗 Parking: Adventure Pass may be required at Red Box, so please plan ahead.
As always, come solo or bring a friend — new faces are welcome. 🙌
🍳 Brunch after
After the hike, we’ll head down to La Cañada for a well-earned brunch at Dish Restaurant.
It’s a good fit for the group because it has a broad brunch menu, a casual post-hike vibe, and is known for handling larger parties reasonably well.
